Packaging questions to resolve before ordering

Connect the product, unit pack, carton and destination requirements.

Start with the handling and sales channel

Describe how the product will be stored, shipped and presented. Retail, project delivery and ecommerce requirements may lead to different packing questions; the final arrangement must be agreed for the specific order.

Review the packing specification

  • Unit packaging and any included inserts or accessories.
  • Quantity per carton, carton dimensions and packing arrangement.
  • Unit and carton weights supported by measured or approved data.
  • Barcode, label, artwork and shipping-mark requirements.
  • Protection and any applicable packing or testing requirements.

Link the pack to the approved product

Use the same product version when reviewing the unit pack and carton. A change to a mechanism, cover, accessory or bundle may affect fit and packing data and should trigger a review.

Confirm the open items

Packing charges, trade terms, shipping method, timing and destination compliance remain project-specific. Keep them unresolved until the responsible parties confirm the applicable data. This checklist does not assign a customs classification or a legal compliance conclusion.
